Health Camps

Community Health & Wellbeing

CottonGuru organises regular health camps to improve access to primary healthcare for farming communities. These camps focus on prevention, early detection and referral for common health issues affecting rural households, with a special emphasis on women’s and children’s health.

Services provided

  • Basic clinical consultations (general physician or nurse).
  • Screening & testing: blood sugar, blood pressure, anaemia screening, basic blood tests where feasible.
  • Women’s health: antenatal care check-ups, screening for common reproductive health issues, counselling.
  • Child health: growth monitoring, immunisation checks, nutrition counselling.
  • Respiratory & occupational health: screening for smoke-related and agriculture-linked respiratory conditions.
  • Health education: hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, safe pesticide handling, and first-aid.
  • Referrals: linkages to local clinics/hospitals for further diagnostics or treatment.
  • Follow-up: coordination with local health workers for ongoing care.

How the camps are run

  • Community mobilisation: Camps are scheduled with village leaders, FPOs and SHGs to ensure high participation.
  • Multi-disciplinary teams: Physicians, nurses, lab technicians and health educators. Where possible, female health providers are present to encourage women’s attendance.
  • Screening workflow: Registration → Triage → Consultation → Tests (if needed) → Counselling → Referral and documentation.
  • Documentation & data: Basic medical records and follow-up plans are recorded to track outcomes and referrals.
  • Partnerships: Camps are run in coordination with local health centres, NGOs and medical volunteers.
